Centenarian couple married for 82 years

Now that's 100% pure love. A husband and wife thought to be one of the oldest married couples in New York who has been married for 82 years. Indeed, this is very impressive. 

Duranord Veillard turned 108 last month and his wife, Jeanne Veillard, won't turn 105 until May.  Duranord was born in 1907 to a fisherman in southern Haiti. He grew up in Port-au-Prince, where he studied law and married Jeanne in November 1932. He and his wife raised five children together. 

In 1968, Duranord and his wife moved to the United States where he began work as a laboratory technician and worked in the position for ten years before retiring. Over time, each of their five children came to the United States after their parents.

Though nearly blind and hard of hearing, Duranord remains physically active. Apparently, he does push-ups every morning and has a very sharp memory. “He remembers everything,” said his son, Vely Veillard, 62. “Look at him! He doesn’t want to use a cane. He’s a superstar.” Neither he nor his wife leaves the house except to visit the doctor, and both need assistance to walk, but they are still enjoying life as fully as they can. I would love to know their eating habits, but I guess we can all tell what's it's like.

Both Duranord and Jeanne are already looking forward to the next milestone in their lives. I wish the Veillard's well and may they continue to be in good health and spirit.
